CORROSION OF CONFORMITY – Brisbane, Australia 8th February 2020
For those who missed out on last nights epic event at the Crowbar in Brisbane, let me fill you in. Despite the torrential rain, rockers poured into the mini-ampitheatre-like venue eager for a night of raw entertainment… and entertained we were.
The Royal Artillery kicked off the night with their hard hitting rock sound, that I would describe as both forceful and melodic. With striking vocals, hefty drums and thick guitar, this 3 piece was easy to digest and left a lasting impression. Their stage presence oozed energy and spirit, really setting the mood for the night ahead and getting the crowd riled up.
Following up, we saw Death By Carrot load up the stage with their classic rock fusions and a passionate presence that electrified the audience. They captivated the crowd with unhurried and interesting solos, stoner-rock style stage moves and an un-explainably intoxicating vibe. I felt their show really represented an awesome combination of Rock’n’Roll nostalgia and modern music.
With the venue alive and buzzing, so packed you couldn’t step sideways, rockers of all kinds could barely contain themselves as Corrosion Of Conformity took their places on stage.
They dominated the room from the moment they stepped out, slaying an elated crowd with classic old-school metal and their overall intensity. Throwing guitars up, headbanging, mighty moves and loud noises were all part of the show we have come to know and expect from this band and they did not disappoint.
Seeing their legion of dedicated fans loose their minds as the boys crushed each song was a powerful image. The stuff goosebumps are made of and this band has proved time again, why it has remained so beloved by hardcore music lovers almost 40 years on. A wild night, excellent bands and fun atmosphere, so I’d have to call this one a 10/10.
