THE COCKNEY REJECTS – Brisbane, Australia 24th October 2019
Rarely these days do we get to experience truly authentic and revolutionary punk-rock music but The Cockney Rejects have continued to bring this experience to people for over 40 years strong!
Along with wild opening performances from ‘The Glycereens’ and ‘Plan Of Attack’ , The Cockney Rejects blew Brisbane’s mind on Thursday night at The Zoo. These punk pioneers and creators of the ‘Oi’ music genre had scores of punks crawling out from the cracks in society to gather and rock out to all their classic songs, including ‘fighting in the street’, ‘blowing bubbles’ and of course the iconic ‘oi oi oi’.
The West End punk-rockers put on a captivating concert that was far from lacking energy and enthusiasm as they bashed about the stage, bringing the powerful culture of that rough and raw original punk atmosphere!
The whole crowd (an army of mohawked, studded and military boot wearing fans) was shouting and jumping along to the unforgettable anthems , creating perfect mayhem and a sea of fists punching the sky, as The Cockney Rejects displayed their rebellious antics and blasted that gritty uninhibited sound full of history that we’ve come to expect from these legends.
Their Music, their attitude and their energy hasn’t aged a day and they were just as entertaining as ever! The rejects awesome live show was full of Spirit and old school style as they reflected the nostalgic era of real punk, we can honestly say this band is still one of the best punk bands to see live and we commend them on their many years of hanging tough against the many shifts in the music industry.
